Tailored Opportunities: PhD position in Mathematics

What?

The department has about 50 permanent scientific staff members and 45 PhD students and 25 postdocs. There are strong research groups in many areas of Mathematics and active PhD students. All applicants entering the PhD program through this call will be affiliated with one of the two sections, Insurance and Economics or statistics and probability theory. The duration of the PhD is 3 years. The description of these two sections could be found in the link: Department research homepage. In addition, there is also PhD positions in Algebra, topology, operator algebras and non-community geometry.

Who?

Candidates should have Master’s degree in similar discipline.

When? The deadline for the call is 15 October 2019 23:59 GMT +1 and starting time will be in September 2020.

How? Fill out and submit the online application form at APPLY NOW and upload the required files. The files to be uploaded are cover letter, description of the PhD project and motivation for applying to the PhD project. Diploma and transcripts of records (BSc and MSc), list of publications (if any) and full contact details of at least three professional referees. Selected applicants might be asked to visit our department for an interview, probably in January 2020. The department will cover all (reasonable) expenses in connection with the interview.
