Tailored opportunities: Free online course GOOD PRODUCTION PRACTICES IN THE FEED INDUSTRY Good Production Practices to improve feed safety

What?

The International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF) represents the global feed industry as an essential participant in the food chain that provides sustainable, safe, nutritious and affordable food for a growing world population. Overall, IFIF members represent over 80% of the compound animal feed production worldwide.

One key mission for IFIF is to promote solutions and information sharing for the feed industry, as well as stimulate the adoption of international standards and global equivalency, in particularly focused on feed safety.

In this context, IFIF has partnered with anpro campus to design this Good Production Practices in the Feed Industry e-Programme. The course is based on the ‘Feed Manual of Good Practices for the Feed Industry’ developed by IFIF and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), which incorporates the Codex Alimentarius Code of Practice on Good Animal Feeding.

The course has 10 modules, covering the following topics:

b. Internal structure and fittings / Water supply / Cleaning facilities
c. Personnel hygiene facilities / Air quality, temperature and ventilation/ Lightening
d. Equipment / Personnel hygiene / Cleaning / Maintenance
e. Pest Control / Waste / Drains
f. Storage / Transport

7. Cross Contamination
8. Carry over
9. Methods of Sampling and Analysis
10. Tools used for Sampling and Analysis

Who?

The course is free for government officials working in fields related to feed production as well as stakeholders and feedmillers in emerging markets
