Tailored Opportunities: TWAS (The World Academy of Sciences) – DFG (German Research Foundation) Cooperation Visit programme in Germany

What?

This opportunities is a cooperation visit for postdoctoral researchers from sub-Saharan Africa to stay for three months in an institute in Germany. The aim of the visit is to initiate research collaboration between African and German scientists with the ultimate goal of developing long-term links.

Who?

This call is for individuals who obtained their PhD not earlier than 2014, nationals of any sub-Saharan African countries and hold a research position. Applicants could be from all academic fields & without age limit. Women scientists are encouraged to apply.

When?

Deadline of the application is 1 April 2019. The duration of visit is 3 months.

How?

Applicants must submit online application by clicking on the “Apply now” found in the link at the bottom of this page. Applicants need also upload scanned copy of passport, CV (including 6 publications), a recent invitation letter from German host institute and two reference letters, copy of PhD certificate, evidence of English or German proficiency and support statement from applicant’s home institute.

Benefits?

The German Research Foundation (DFG) will cover health insurance, travel expenses and provide subsistence costs for the stay in Germany.
