Tailored opportunities: Call for the One Planet Fellowship

What?

This fellowship was announced at the inaugural One Planet summit in Paris by president of France, Macron in order to attain the objective made by the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. The fellowship aims to develop the capacity of young and high potential researchers from Africa and Europe with the objective to help smallholder farmers’ adaption to climate change and including gender to own research. It has five themes and these are: 1) Monitoring and assessment, 2) Agricultural practices for managing variability and adaptation, 3) Food systems and climate change, 4) Social economic issues related to climate change and agriculture and 5) Organizations, institutions and policy framework supporting climate change adaptation and mitigation in agriculture.

Who can apply?

Applicants should be:

  • Citizens Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote D’lvore, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Togo and Zambia
  • Aged 40 years or less as of April 2019, with minimum education level of bachelor’s degree
  • African resident and who actively engage in research policy or practice related to climate change and Africa’s smallholder agriculture
