The Department of Economics at the University of Copenhagen offers a number of PhD scholarships that will be linked to the new Niels Bohr Professorship Center Directed by Niels Bohr Professor Morten Bennedsen. The successful candidate(s) will be employed from 1 May 2018, or at a later date according to agreement with the Department.
The ideal candidate has a strong interest in applied microeconomics. This may include topics such as organizational economics, leadership, corporate governance, firm theory and ownermanaged and family owned businesses. In addition, prior experience with data management, data programming and data analysis is an advantage (but not a prerequisite for the position).
The PhD scholarships will be awarded either as 5+3 or 4+4 scholarships depending on the situation of the applicant. The PhD projects will allow students to learn and apply a broad spectrum of complementary scientific methods to shed new light on a number of fundamental questions within firm organization and firm governance. Most of the projects within the research center will be theoretical based, but use novel surveys and register data.
In order to be eligible for a scholarship in the 5+3 PhD study programme the applicant must have completed a two year MSc degree programme, or have earned 120 ECTS credits at an equivalent academic level before starting his or her employment.
Deadline for application is 15 March 2018
Applications should include the following enclosures:
- CV, incl. relevant experience (internships, work) and language qualifications
- Degree certificates and transcripts of all relevant course work
- Project description (3-4 pages)
- List of publications (if any)
